Xiyuan Hotel

Very good breakfast with both Chinese and Western-style food, with nice city view since the buffet restaurant is on top of the building; there's chefs making noodle and Wonton soup at the breakfast Buffet. The location is very child-friendly – next to Beijing Zoo (walking distance), Paleozoological Museum of China (just walk cross the street), Beijing Planetarium (walking distance), and close to Beijing Acquarium. The metro subway station is also a couple of minutes walk. I've been returning to this hotel with my kid every time we go to Beijing.
